Pennsbury teachers in lower Bucks County have decided to extend their current contract through the next school year. It would be nice to see the Souderton Area School District teachers follow their lead. The decision may well be self serving, it'll will likely be a better economic climate to bargain a year from now. If not, the teachers can extend their contract again. What makes no sense to me is trying to gain public support through threats about the possible fallout of not giving the Souderton teachers more money. Following the current arbitration process, Souderton teachers should offer to extend their current contract through this and the next school year. My fear is they will not learn from their brethren to the south, but decided to again hit the bricks.
