The Weis supermarket chain is buying two Genuardi’s Markets in Montgomery County and one in Bucks County. They are on Germantown Pike in East Norriton, Ridge Pike near Conshohocken and Old Dublin Pike in Doylestown. The price was not disclosed, and they will operate under the Genuardi’s name until the deal is finalized.
Last month Genuardi’s parent company, Safeway, worked out a deal to sell 16 other Genuardi’s Markets to Giant Food Stores for $106 million. They included locations at Sumneytown Pike and Church Road in Upper Gwynedd, Susquehanna and Bradfield Roads in the Roslyn section of Abington Township, and Route 202 and County Line Road in New Britain Township.
