A U.S. Geological Survey report says the third-largest untapped natural gas deposit on the East Coast is in the South Newark Basin, which includes all of Bucks County and extends into New Jersey and New York. Gas companies are already trying to seek the permits needed for exploratory drilling in Nockamixon Township, and now they could start looking for places to drill in other parts of Bucks County.
