Thousands of people turned out Saturday for an open house at Einstein Medical Center Montgomery in East Norriton.

It’s been under construction for two years at the former Wood’s Golf site on Germantown Pike near Whitehall Road.

Einstein calls it a regional medical center on more than 80 acres with parking for more than 1,000 vehicles.  It’s a full-service acute-care hospital with 146 beds, expandable later to more than 200 beds.

The 360,000-square-foot main building has a five-story patient tower, and there’s also a two-story medical office building.  The cost is about $350 million, and it opens for business on Saturday, September 29.
