The Route 202 Parkway between the Lansdale and Doylestown areas is on schedule for an early December opening.
PennDot’s Gene Blaum says the department wants to get everything done before opening the highway, and that includes work on feeder roads, parallel roads and the existing route 202.
“That whole area where the parkway is going to connect with 63 and DeKalb Pike has all been expanded and the contractor is working there and is building the intersection with County Line Road, but the major part of the work that still needs to be finished is extensive landscaping, and there’s a certain planting season for deciduous trees, shrubs and perennials.”
Blaum says that season runs from mid-October to mid-November, so the planting alone will take another month, and they still need to finish drainage work, install signs and paint stripes on the road. He appeared Tuesday on the WNPV talk program Comment Please by Univest.
