The Norristown Recreation Committee has honored Police Captain Willie Richet with the Living the Dream award, which it gives every year on the Martin Luther King holiday.
He grew up in Norristown, graduating from high school in 1967.
He’s a Vietnam veteran who joined the police force in 1973.
He rose through the ranks and he becomes interim chief after Chief Russell Bono retires at the end of February. Richet says, “One thing I can say with certainty is that I have lived my dream.”
