Lumberville Bridge Closing For Repairs
A well-traveled pedestrian bridge connecting Pennsylvania and New Jersey is closing for repairs.
It spans the Delaware River between Lumberville, in Solebury Township, Bucks County, and Delaware Township in New Jersey.
The work includes replacing a retaining wall adjacent to the Pennsylvania abutment, repairing the abutments, wing walls, pier caps and sidewalk approaches, replacing deteriorating steel and sandblasting and painting the steel structure.
The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission says the work starts in early March, it should be finished by Memorial Day weekend, and tolls from the commission’s other bridges will pay for it.
