Zoo Jaguar Dies

The largest cat at the Elmwood Park Zoo in Norristown has died.

Anasazi was a 19-year-old male jaguar, and he died on Thursday, February 28, from kidney failure and cancer.

Zoo staff had been treating him with medication and a special diet for most of the last year.

He had been a favorite of zoo staff and visitors since his arrival in 1994, and his likeness was used to create a logo that is still in use.
