Occupy Lansdale won't go away.   Protesters plan to demonstrate at the Kugel Ball downtown every Monday evening until further notice.   Organizers say they will put the emphasis of their protest on education.   Quaker historian Jim Quinn will give a seminar on American history this Monday night.

New Opponent for Joe Paterno

Former Penn State Football Coach Joe Paterno has treatable lung cancer.   It was discovered while he was being treated for a bronchial ailment.   Doctors expect a full recovery.   The cancer revelation comes in a statement from Paterno's son Scott.   The younger Paterno says the last two weeks that saw his father fired in the wake of the Penn State child sex scandal have been surreal.   He also says his father is holding up well all things considered.

202 Parkway Opening Less Than A Year Away

Road_WorkPennDot’s Gene Blaum says the new Route 202 Parkway, between the Lansdale and Doylestown areas, will be finished in less than a year if the work stays on schedule.

Bucks County Row Officer Pleads Guilty

Bucks County Register of Wills Barbara Reilly has resigned following her guilty plea Friday in the political corruption case against her.   Investigators say she forced the employees in her office to do campaign work on county time.   Second Deputy Register of Wills Rebecca Kiefer also pleaded guilty.   Office Adminsitrator Candace Quinn entered the same plea in September.   All three will be sentenced in January.   First Deputy Register of Wills James McCullen will stand trial on the same charges later this month.   Reilly could face seven years behind bars at sentencing.
