State officials have lifted the drought watch in 40 counties across Pennsylvania including Bucks and Montgomery. The Department of Environmental Protection says ground water levels are now normal following the record rainfall last month. The drought watch was issued on August 5th. Parts of northwest and north central Pennsylvania remain on a drought watch.
Thousand Cankers Disease has been found in a Bucks County Black Walnut tree, causing the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture to bar moving all walnut material including nursery stock, green lumber and firewood from the county.
An alleged Montgomery Township drug kingpin wants the conditions of his bail modified. 39-year-old Anthony Dennis of Thames Drive wants permission to shed his electronic monitoring device while he awaits trial on Covcaine dealing charges. He is currently only allowed to leave his home for court approved purposes. His attorney says his client should be allowed to work, go to church and mow his lawn. A jude has yet to schedule on a hearing on the request.
