2 Plead Guilty In Pill Mill Case

pillsTwo Of Three Bucks County residents accused of running a “pill mill,” selling diet pills without a prescription, have admitted their roles in the operation. They are Robert and Rita Claypoole of Southampton, both aged in their seventies.  They pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance this week in U.S. District Court in Philadelphia.  46-year-old physician and alleged ringleader Christopher Vassalluzzo of Upper Makefield has pleaded not guilty, and his trial date should be set next month.  Doctor Vassalluzzo is charged with selling prescription drugs outside a professional practice and mail fraud.  A federal indictment says his operation went on for about a decade out of a Northeast Philadelphia office.  He also has or had a practice in Lansdale.
