A former Pennbrook Middle School Vice Principal is accused of having inappropriate contact with a 13-year-old boy. 37-year-old Charles Hurst of Montgomery Township (pictured here) is charged with endangering the welfare of a child and corruption of minors. Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Ferman says he encouraged the boy to commit a lewd act both in person and by texting, and police started investigating when someone found sexual text messages and reported them. Court documents say he gave the victim a dollar every time the boy reported committing the act. Ferman says he got to the victim by developing a personal relationship with his family.
“There had been a closeness and a level of trust as this man had become very close with the family.”
Ferman says whenever you have a teacher, coach or administrator who is in a position of trust, it is very disturbing to see that trust violated.
