Large Dope Ring Busted

No_drugsSixteen men and women are accused of taking part is a drug distribution ring that stretched from Southeastern Pennsylvania to Las Vegas. They all face multiple criminal charges.  An investigating grand jury identified 39-year-old William Gilkin of South Philadelphia as the ringleader.  The grand jury found two distribution networks within the larger ring, including one headed by Richard DeRosa of South Philadelphia.  It said he employed 40-year-old Sean LeGrande of Ambler to sell cocaine and 41-year-old Gerald Mangold of Southampton, in Bucks County, to sell OxyContin and other prescription pills, and his mother, 61-year-old Diane DeRosa of Swarthmore, in Delaware County, laundered money for the gang.  Most of the others charged are from Philadelphia and South Jersey.  State Attorney General Tom Corbett says they sold an estimated $800,000 worth of cocaine in the last year, and the case will be prosecuted in Montgomery County.
