Ex Employee: Manilla Told Him To Hide Guns

Bucks_County_CourthouseA man who worked for David Manilla says the Montgomery County lawyer asked him to conceal evidence after his arrest last fall in the shooting death of a Bucks County hunter. 42-year-old James Stewart of Souderton testified before a grand jury last week in Doylestown.  Court documents say he testified that Manilla told him to take about 50 guns from the Richland Township property where the shooting occurred and hide them in a horse trailer at a property his girlfriend owned in Skippack.  The 49-year-old Manilla, of Worcester, faces trial in Bucks County Court for involuntary manslaughter and other criminal offenses in the death of 52-year-old hunter Barry Groh of Quakertown.  Manilla shot and killed him in late November as he dragged a deer along the Tohickon Creek in Richland Township.  He also faces a wrongful death civil lawsuit filed by the victim’s widow, Theresa Groh.
