Two Rifle, Colorado residents are accused of flying a single-engine plane to Wings Field In Whitpain Township and trying to defray their travel expenses by selling a pound of methamphetamine with a street value of $27,000. 51-year-old James Handzus and his 41-year-old girlfriend Tamara Vincent are charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and related offenses. Court documents say they picked it up in Las Vegas, Nevada and flew it to the privately-owned local airport. They were arrested on Friday, April 22, at the Ruby Tuesday’s Restaurant on Chemical Road in Plymouth Township, where they tried to sell the drug to an undercover police officer. Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Ferman says the couple’s Facebook page tipped off police about their travel plans. Her office is seeking criminal forfeiture of the plane, a 1959 Piper Comanche. Proceeds from its sale would go back into enforcing drug laws.
