The death of Ted Kennedy is getting the kind of media coverage usually reserved for a President (or The King of Pop). Kennedy is an interesting political figure. He was an unapologetic liberal (even when it wasn't in vogue) and often very partisan. But his most notable legislative accomplishments came when he worked with republicans. The tabloid
aspects of his personal life and the feeling by some that he got away with murder leaves a permanent mark on his record. But there is little doubt that as a political figure he left had the greatest impact as a member of the country's most prominent political family.
