Accused Drug Dealer’s Trial Stays In Montco

James_HandzusA judge has turned down an accused drug dealer’s request to have his trial moved out of Montgomery County. His lawyer said it should be moved to another county because pervasive, inflammatory publicity would make a fair trial impossible, but the judge disagreed.  51-year-old James Handzus (pictured here) and his 41-year-old girlfriend Tamara Vincent were arrested last April at the Ruby Tuesday’s Restaurant on Chemical Road in Plymouth Township, where they allegedly tried to sell crystal methamphetamine to an undercover police officer.  The two Colorado residents are accused of flying a Piper Comanche from Las Vegas to Wings Field and trying to defray their travel expenses by selling a pound of the drug, with a street value of $27,000.  Handzus has been in Montgomery County Prison since his arrest, unable to raise $500,000 cash bail.  He is awaiting a hearing on a bail reduction request.
