Dog Bite Rescue

Lansdale_PDLansdale Police have rescued a woman from an attack by her own dog.  It happened around 5:45pm Friday, December 23, at a home on West Mount Vernon Street. She told police the dog bit her on the hand as she walked past it in her kitchen, so she tried to break its jaw grip with her other hand, but the dog became more aggressive and bit her several times.  At that point she told her child to call 911 and stay in an upstairs bedroom, away from danger.  When police arrived the dog leaped over a kitchen canine barrier and ran toward the officers, but they restrained it with a dog noose designed to control aggressive animals.  The woman, who was treated at Lansdale Hospital for multiple bites to the right hand and arm, said she adopted the Black Lab mixed breed recently and could not control it.  Police put the dog in their patrol car and the SPCA came and picked it up.
