Truck Driver Admits Causing Fatal Crash
The collision occurred at about 6:00am on February 3, 2011 while he was trying to make a u-turn with his tractor-trailer across all travel lanes on Route 309 at Sterling Drive. His truck collided with a motorcycle driven by 55-year-old Terry Kriebel of Sellersville, who was killed. The trailer was blocking his lane of travel when he ran into it.
Prosecutor Samantha Cauffman said, “It’s atrocious, pulling a huge tractor trailer into an illegal u-turn.” He helped another motorist cover the body with a sheet or towel, and then got back into his truck and drove away. Cauffman said it was an act of a heartless coward. The judge immediately gave him 2 1/2 to 5 years in state prison, followed by 5 years probation.
