Man Fatally Shot In Fight With Police
Perkasie Police Chief Joseph Gura says the man became very combative with three officers who arrived at the scene. He was fighting with his fists behind a building on Clymer Avenue when he lunged at an officer, who shot him once in the chest. No names have been released, but the chief says he does not believe the man is a local resident and the Bucks County District Attorney’s office is investigating.
Police were back in the same neighborhood late Sunday afternoon when someone found a suspicious package under a railroad trestle near Earl Druckenmiller Park. The Allentown Bomb Squad took it away. Chief Gura says it had paperwork around it with some kind of a rant containing a lot of expletives, but he does not know if the Saturday and Sunday incidents were related. Perkasie Police patrol Sellersville streets.
