A Pottstown man is accused of driving while high on synthetic marijuana when he caused a crash that killed two Pottstown residents and left one hospitalized six weeks ago. 27-year-old Roger Malloy (pictured here) is charged with homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence of drugs and other offenses in the Pottstown crash that killed 15-year-old Rachel Witt and 28-year-old James Crawford and critically injured 16-year-old Kendal Harper.
The victims were all passengers in a Lincoln Continental that Malloy was driving while his license was under a DUI related suspension. He told police he had just smoked a drug known as “K-2” five or ten minutes before the high-speed crash on State Street, and it made his heart beat faster, blurred his vision and caused a sense of panic.
The owner and a clerk at Achi, the Pottstown convenience store that sold it to him, also face criminal charges.
