A mugging in broad daylight at the intersection of 7th and Maple streets has Lansdale Borough Police searching for two suspects.

Police say it happened at around 2:30 Wednesday afternoon when two armed bandits assaulted the victim, taking a backpack in the process. The person suffered an injury to the left temple. The two male suspects made their getaway in different directions. One ran toward the Lansdale train station and the other drove off in a white Ford.

Two people were picked up, but were later released after police determined they were not involved in the robbery and assault. Anyone with information is urged to call Lansdale Borough Police.
