An off-duty state trooper who was allegedly intoxicated when he killed another driver on the Pennsylvania turnpike waived his right to a preliminary hearing.

47-year-old Barry Searfoss Jr. will face arraignment in September on various charges, among them, homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence of alcohol. Searfoss’ vehicle slammed into the back of Philadelphia resident Robin Williams. The 21-year-old’s vehicle had broken down on the turnpike in Upper Dublin when Searfoss rear-ended her Lincoln Town Car.

Searfoss’ blood alcohol was over the legal limit. He had attended a golf outing at 11:30AM on May 18th, the day of the crash. The crash happened at abut 10:00PM. He’s free on $5,000 bail.
