Fallen Officer Honored

Governor Tom Corbett and Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter joined thousands of uniformed police Wednesday in Plymouth Meeting to remember Brad Fox.

He’s the Plymouth Township police officer shot and killed while on duty September 13, one day before his 35th birthday.

The Reverend Edward Hallinan officiated at his funeral service at Epiphany of Our Lord Catholic Church.

“For officer Fox to be ambushed by a coward with a gun is not God’s will.  God’s will is, ‘Thou shall not kill.’  God’s will is to love one another.”

He is survived by his baby daughter Kadence and his wife Lynsay.  Her sister, Brittany Mattozzi, read from a letter Lynsay wrote to her husband in Heaven, remembering the day five months ago when their daughter was born.

“There have only been a few times in our eight years together that I have seen you cry, and this is one of those times.  I knew that little girl had you wrapped around her little finger from the time you first laid eyes on her.  She is, and always will be, Daddy’s Little Girl.  I will forever be reminded of you each time I look into her eyes.”

Officer Fox was buried with full military honors at Washington Crossing Veterans’ Cemetery in Bucks County.  He is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served two tours in Iraq.
