Canazaro Funeral
He was killed during a home-invasion robbery at his Hilltown home.
Police say two men entered the Swartley Road house through a first-floor bedroom window on Friday morning, January 18, and tied up Canazaro, his girlfriend and twelve-year-old son and searched the house for valuables. They took an undisclosed number of firearms.
The woman managed to free herself and the boy and call 911, but by the time police got to the house he was dead.
Friends say he was a family man who enjoyed being around his two sons, but he also had a long history of financial problems that included millions of dollars in debt and more than $500,000 in unpaid taxes, and in 2008 he filed for bankruptcy.
He was a co-owner of Finn McCool’s Tavern in Ambler and he had other businesses and properties, including M-John’s Automotive on Broad Street in Lansdale, where he was the landlord.
