More than 75 people gathered at his family’s parish, Our Lady of Grace Church in Penndel, to pray for the recovery of 16-year-old Neshaminy High School sophomore Matt Cruz.
He was one of 35 people injured Saturday night when a bus they were riding in hit an overhead bridge on Soldier’s Field Road, a major highway that runs alongside the Charles River in Boston.
The passengers were high school students and their adult chaperones traveling with the Destined for a Dream Foundation, a Bristol-based organization that helps underprivileged young people. They spent the day visiting the Harvard University area.
They had just started the trip back home when the bus, chartered through Calvary Coach of Philadelphia, struck the bridge.
