The Hatfield Volunteer Fire Company was called to the first block of
West Vine Street late Tuesday afternoon when a driver lost control of his
car and hit a gold Taurus, which was parked next to a home. The impact
pushed the Taurus against the home's gas meter. According to officials,
the parked Taurus blocked the car from crahsing into the home.
One witness reportedly heard the driver say he fell asleep behind
the wheel. The driver of the car was taken to Abington Health Lansdale Hosital to be
treated for unknown injuries. Fire officials closed some streets near
the scene of the crash until the incident was deemed to be under control.
