Former Fire Co. Treasurer Charged With Theft Waives Hearing

Ken Nolan, former treasurer of the Upper Gwynedd Fire company, will remain free on 100,000 dollars bail after waiving his court hearing Tuesday. Nolan now faces a formal arraignment on October 23rd to face charges, accusing him of stealing nearly 250-thousand dollars from the Upper Gwynedd Fire Company from 2006 to 2012, when he was ousted from the treasurer’s position. Officials with the Upper Gwynedd Fire Company conducted an audit of expenditures and found that Nolan misappropriated fire company money. Fire company officials then turned the information over to Montgomery County D-A Risa Ferman, who charged Nolan with numerous offenses, including theft and receiving stolen property. Investigators discovered that Nolan, among other purchases, flew to Las Vegas 15 times.
