The victim of a shooting in Lansdale still has a bullet lodged in his arm from gunfire that erupted just after midnight on September 4th, 2011.
But he can now feel a degree of ease and a sense of justice after one of the men involved in the shooting is sentenced to 5 to 12 years in prison. 21-year-old, John Sambath of Philadelphia, was sent to prison after evidence showed he was the trigger man on 900 block of Wedgewood Drive when hostilities broke out between two groups of people. Sambath’s accomplice, also from Philadelphia, 22-year-old Chrsitian Vietri, will be sentenced at a later date. He was 19 when the incident happened. Police say both men were holding guns. vietri tried to flee, but was arrested and found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. According to reports, the 18-year-old victim was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and not the intended target.
