Tense moments in Montgomery Township Monday after gunfire pierced the morning calm. When it was over, a man would end up taking his own life, according to police.
Montgomery Township Police say the violence sparked off just before 10-am Monday when shots were fired at a residence on the 2220 block of Harvard Drive, hitting a woman in the upper chest. She was airlifted to the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. The Central Montgomery County Swat Team converged on the scene. Two local elementary schools were put on lockdown. Police say, the man who took his life and the woman who is still at University of Pennsylvania Hospital, were arguing prior to the gunfire. police believe the man ended his life sometime before three-pm Monday. The names of the man and woman have not been released. The woman’s condition is not known.
