Fire Erupts at Vacant Lansdale Building

Firefighters were called to the old Lansdale Finishers building Tuesday afternoon for a blaze. The fire was doused in about 15 minutes. The vacant building is located on the 100 block of Broad Street. The cause of the fire is not known. three fire companies responded to the scene. no one was hurt as a result of the fire.

Franconia Twp. Man Faces Probation on Animal Cruelty

A Franconia Township man is sentenced to 4-years probation. Police say, Earl Heitz 3rd was charged with cruelty to animals and weapons offenses in connection with a March 21st incident, where police and animal control officers were called to his home by concerned neighbors for an injured goat and other animals that were living in poor conditions. His home was eventually deemed unlivable by the township, but police also found guns, which Heitz was not permitted to have due to a previous conviction. Police left the residence after a condemned sign was posted. When police returned, they found Heitz at the home with an array of dogs running around. Police arrested him and charged him with possessing weapons for a person prohibited. 

Teen Accused of Girlfriend’s Death Wants Trial Moved

Tristan Stahley, the 17-year-old charged as an adult with killing his girlfriend, 17-year-old Julianne Siller, wants to be tried in juvenile court. Stahley, according to police, stabbed Siller to death on the night of May 25th in a park near his Skippack home. Stahley faces charges of first and third degree murder. A judge has not scheduled a hearing to determine if the case should be sent to juvenile court. If the case is sent to juvenile court and Stahley is found guilty, he could be released when he turns 21 years old. Siller would have graduated from Spring-ford Area High School last may. 

Man Held on 2.5 Million Bail in Strip Club Shootings

A 55-year-old Warrington man is behind bars on serious charges, including attempted criminal homicide in connection with shooting two brothers, employees of Double Visions, a strip club in Horsham Saturday night. Police say, Joseph Thiers was asked to leave the club, but came back with a gun and shot the sons of the owner, Jason and Phil Catagnus. both are listed in stable condition. Thiers then fled the property and led police on a chase that ended in the driveway of a residence in Warrington. According to police, he started firing on officers. None of the officers were hit. Thiers is being held on 2-point-5 million dollars bail.
