A Pennsylvania National Guard Solider who failed to report for duty since last Friday led Pa. National Guard Command to check on the man who lives on the 1300 block of Lynn Drive in Lower Pottsgrove Township. Authorities arrived just before noon. After several hours, officers heard a gun shot from within the home. Just before 4pm, officers made their way into the home and found the man in a second floor room. Residents, who were asked to leave their homes, were allowed to return just before six. The investigation continues. The man’s name is being withheld until family can being notified
Burglars take advantage of the July 4th holiday to burglarize Inglewood Elementary school on Allentown Road. Towamencin Township Police Chief Tim Dickenson.
“They gained entry through an area that was under construction at the time. They took ten 20-foot long copper pipes, 18 brass ball valves, 100 copper fittings of various sizes and five reels of nearly 2,500 foot each of solid number 12 copper wire.”
Dickenson says, the burglars hit the site between 3pm July 4th and 6am of July 5th. The copper has an estimated value of 12-hundred dollars. The value of the rest of the stolen property is still being assessed.
Lansdale Borough Police know more about a missing Lansdale woman, Sergeant Alex Kromdyk says, Amanda Schumacker was seen in Philadelphia on North Broad Street Tuesday with a male.
“From that report, she was o-k, but we would really like her to reach out to Lansdale Borough Police to make sure she’s safe.”
Schumacker, 26, was reported missing after leaving the hospital on June 20th. She left behind her clothing, money and medicine, which caused additional concern
Police say, a Bridgeport man wanted in connection with the theft of thousands of dollars in wedding gifts has turned himself in. 35-year-old, Joseph Franzone Jr. turned himself in to the District Justice in Skippack Friday Morning. Police were able to use surveillance video to determine Franzon’s identity in connection with the Sunday, July 7th theft of wedding gifts at the William Penn Inn. Police say, Franzone was seen roaming around in the parking lot and inside the William Penn Inn. Franzone made off with an estimated three to five thousand dollars in wedding gifts. Franzone faces a list of charges, including theft.
