A Hatfield man faces a court hearing in connection with allegedly leading Lansdale Borough Police on a chase that eventually ended in front of his home. The August 24th incident started just before 2:30 in the morning, when a Lansdale Borough Police officers saw two men banging on the windows of a blue truck, urging Richard Handy, to get out of the vehicle. Police say, handy took off, driving around another police car at Squirrel Avenue that tried to stop him. Handy stopped at his home on Peaceful Drive, where according to police, he resisted arrest and began yelling, release the pit bulls. Handy face a on October 10th. Police say, Handy’s breathe test showed he was twice over the legal limit. His girlfriend was in the passenger’s seat. She was not charged.
A Skippack man waives his hearing in connection with his arrest on allegedly growing pot plants in his back yard. Police found 14 pot plants and a number long guns at the home of 35-year-old, David Diehl on August 26th. Police ay, Diehl, who lives on the 800 block of Bridge Road is prohibited from owning firearms due to a previous conviction. He was released after posting 99-thousand dollars unsecured bail. A court hearing is scheduled for October 23rd.
A man working at Skippack Elementary School dies after an accident occurred during the installation of lighting at the school. Montgomery County 9-1-1 dispatched an ambulance to the school around 10pm Wednesday night. It’s not clear if the worker was the victim of electrocution. The work was being carried out at night to avoid disturbing classes at the school. The Pennsylvania State Police continue to investigate the incident. The man’s age and identity have not been released.
It's probation for an Upper Bucks teenager involved in a crash on the Route 611 Bypass near Doylestown during a drag race with another driver earlier this year. Investigators say 18-year-old John Anton of Kintnersville was going more than 150 miles-per-hour when he lost control of his souped up Subaru. It struck the car driven by the other speeding driver severely injuring him. The second driver awaits trial.
