A 32-year-old Bensalem Township man is under arrest after authorities discovered more than 1,000 images of young children engaging sex acts. Police say, Salvador Barbaro Jr faces 200 counts of child porn charges. Investigators with the Pennsylvania Office of The Attorney General and Bensalem Township Police served a search warrant Wednesday where the images were allegedly found on his home computer. Barbaro also told investigators he snapped a picture of a 13-year-old girl he saw on a train. Barbaro is being held on 200-thousand dollars bail.
A Souderton man will spend nearly two years behind bars in connection with a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl. According to court records, Keith Hunter admitted to the court that he engaged in sex with a 14-year-old girl. The incidents happened between August of 2011 and March of 2012 in Franconia Township. Hunter was in his late teens when he was involved with the girl. Hunter, now 20-years-old, will face two years of probation when he’s released. He’s also barred from using Facebook and taking another job as a camp counselor. Hunter met the teen when he was a counselor at the Indian Valley Boys and Girls Club.
someone detonated a bottle bomb in Towamencin Township, an act that police believe could have been precipitated over bad blood between residents. Towamencin Township Police say the device exploded on the 300 block of Erie Drive Monday night just before 10:30. Residents who heard the loud blast saw a Honda Civic driving away. A Pennsylvania National Guard Solider who failed to report for duty since last Friday led Pa. National Guard Command to check on the man who lives on the 1300 block of Lynn Drive in Lower Pottsgrove Township. Authorities arrived just before noon. After several hours, officers heard a gun shot from within the home. Just before 4pm, officers made their way into the home and found the man in a second floor room. Residents, who were asked to leave their homes, were allowed to return just before six. The investigation continues. The man’s name is being withheld until family can being notified
