Just four months ago he was a central figure in the Montgomery County Republican Party as its Chairman. On Wednesday, Bob Kerns waived his preliminary hearing Scheduled for the end of the month, entering a not guilty plea in connection with an incident in October, which accused him of drugging and raping a co-worker at the Upper Gwynedd Township law firm where Kerns and the victim worked. The 66-year-old attorney faces a long list of charges. Court records show kerns allegedly used the sleeping aid to subdue the victim by dropping it into a bottle of wine. Kerns and his co-worker were at a law firm party in Whitpain Township prior to the incident.
A head on crash in Souderton sends a 78-year-old woman to the hospital via helicopter. Police say, the crash happened Monday afternoon at around 2:30 on Godshall Road in the area of Lower Road. Franconia Township Police say, the woman was driving a 2002 Acura when she veered to the northbound lane of Godshall Road, impacting the school bus head-on. No students were on the bus. The woman was flown to Hahnemann University hospital. Police believe it’s possible the woman could have had a medical condition which led to the crash. Souderton and Telford Fire Companies responded to the crash.
A teen from El Salvador is being held on 100,000 dollars bail at the Montgomery County Prison after being accused of the attempted rape of a woman in Lansdale’s Stoney Creek Park. Police say it happened at around 4:45pm Monday, when a woman was putting her three children in her car. police say, when she turned around, 16-year-old, Herson Guardado was standing in front of her. Police say, he grabbed her neck and jammed something in her side she thought could be a knife. Police say, he asked her if she “wanted sex” and forced her to walk toward the park. the woman broke free. Guardado then ran toward a wooded area. Upper Gwynedd Township Police arrested Guardado near Church Road. Police found a knife, marijuana and a pipe on Guardado. He faces a long list of charges.
Police have identified the man killed in an early morning crash on Route 309 and West Pumping Station Road. Police say, Arthur Metcalfe was driving his pickup truck on Route 309 before 5am Monday when he slammed into the back of a tour bus at West Pumping Station Road. It’s not yet known why the 75-year-old Bethlehem man crashed his pick-up into the back of the bus. Traffic was backed-up due to the crash.
