Hatfield Twp. Home Uninhabitable After Wednesday Fire

Flames take a toll on a Hatfield Township home Wednesday evening at around 5:30. Hatfield Township Fire Company and three additional fire companies responded to the 3100 block of Line Lexington Road. A man and his daughter were able to get out of the home unharmed, but according to fire officials, the back bedroom of the home was badly damaged by the flames, while the rest of the home was damaged by smoke build-up. The family will have to seek other lodging until the home can be repaired. The cause of the fire is under investigation.  

Hatfield Twp. Man: Tied Up… Assaulted….Robbed In His Home

Hatfield Township police investigate a home invasion where a 34-year-old was beaten and tied up in his home. Police say it happened in the early morning hours of Thursday, just after five, when several men accosted the 34-year-man and began assaulting him. He was forced in his home on the 1400 block of Leas Way where the men stole property and guns. He was able to untie himself in less than a half hour and call 9-1-1. The men fled the scene with his car, which was later discovered in Philadelphia. the victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-threatening life injuries. Anyone with information is asked to call the Hatfield Township Police Department

Man Sentenced For Hiding Video Camera in Women’s Bathroom

On January 28th, a staff member walked in to the women’s bathroom at the Souderton Vantage Program School and found a video camera placed in the bathroom. Police would soon trace the placement of the video device to a physical education teacher at the school. A judge used the words disturbing and perverted to describe the actions of 37-year-old Conal Wright, a father two. Wright, a Lansdale resident, plead guilty to the charges of invasion of privacy and harassment. He was sentenced six to 12 months behind bars.

Police: Lower Salford Man Bilked Towamencin Twp Residents

An elderly woman and another person were allegedly duped in to believing a Lower Salford man had their best interests in mind when they agreed to allow him to oversee their financial affairs. Authorities say, 47 year old Jeffery Stoler never provided the whereabouts or information pertaining to the woman’s 80-thousand dollars. He was arrested in early July when he failed to provide information for the woman, whose family contacted Towamencin Township Police. He first started managing the woman’s money in May of 2012. Stoler also must answer for more than 34-thousand dollars he agreed to manage for another person in the township. He faces a preliminary hearing on November 19th.
