Trio Face Arraignments in Coin Shop Armed Robbery

AN EARLY MORNING, JANUARY 21ST ARMED ROBBERY AT A LANSDALE COIN STORE LANDS THREE MEN IN COUNTY COURT. POLICE SAY, GENE KULP, HIS COUSIN, 21-YEAR-OLD MICHAEL CRECIUN, AND 25-YEAR-OLD, ANTHONY HUGHES, CONSPIRED TO ROB HENS COINS ON MAIN STREET. POLICE SAY, KULP AND CRECIUN THREATENED THE OWNER WITH A KNIFE, AT ONE POINT, PUTTING HIM IN A CHOKE HOLD. THEY FLED THE BUSINESS WITH 95-HUNDRED DOLLARS WORTH OF COINS, WHICH THEY LATER ALLEGEDLY SOLD AT A SUPERMARKET. THE CAPPER COLLAPSED THE NEXT DAY, JANUARY 22ND, WHEN CRECIUN DECIDED TO APPPLY FOR A GUN PERMIT AT THE LANSDALE POLICE DEPARTMENT. POLICE SAY, CRECIUN WAS QUESTIONED ABOUT THE ROBBERY AND CONFESSED TO INVESTIGATORS. CRECIUN HAS A COURT DATE ON APRIL 10TH ARRIGNMENT, FOLLOWED BY KULP ON APRIL 24TH. HUGHES, THE ALLEGED GETAWAY DRIVER, WILL BE IN COURT MARCH 25TH.

Accused Baby Killer Pleads Not Guilty

An Upper Merion man accused of killing a baby girl and her grandmother in King of Prussia last October has pleaded not guilty to all charges.   27-year-old Raghunandan Yandamuri is charged with first degree murder and other offenses.   Authorities say he tried to kidnap 10-month-old Saanvi Venna and killed 61-year-old Satayvathi Venna when she tried to protect her granddaughter.   The little girl was allegedly then suffocated and her body hidden in the basement in the Marquis Apartment building in King of Prussia.   Yandamuri faces the death penalty if convicted. 

Souderton Man Admits To Sex With Minor

A SOUDERTON MAN, 22-YEAR-OLD ROBERT THOMPSON, IS SENTENCED TO 11-AND-A-HALF TO 23 MONTH IN PRISON AFTER HE TOLD THE COURT THAT HE HAD ENGAGAED IN SEX WITH A 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL WHO WAS BABYSITTING HIS DAUGHTERS. COURT RECORDS SHOW THE INCIDENTS HAPPENED IN 2012. THOMPSON IS ALSO ORDERED TO COMPLETE FOUR YEARS OF PROBATION. SOUDERTON POLICE WERE NOTIFIED BY THE GIRLS MOTHER WHO SAW TEXT MESSAGES ON HER DAUGHTERS CELL PHONE ABOUT THE SEXUAL ACTIVITY BETWEEN THOMPSON AND HER DAUGHTER. POLICE SAY THOMPSON ENEGAGED IN SEXUAL ACTIVITY WITH THE TEEN IN JUNE AND JULY OF 2012.

Hatfield Man, New Court Date on Attempted Murder Charges

A 49-year-old Hatfield man suspected of stabbing his wife multiple times on March 10th will face a preliminary hearing in April after his first hearing, scheduled for Monday, was cancelled. The court did not give a reason for rescheduling Thomas Young’s preliminary hearing, now scheduled for April 12th. Police say young assaulted his wife with a knife at her home, after midnight, on March 10th on the 33-hundred block of Wheatfield circle, fleeing in her 2009 Honda Accord. Young turned himself in March 15th after a five-day manhunt. Young, who faces a host of charges, including attempted murder, is being held in the Montgomery County Prison on 1-million dollars bail
