Lansdale Borough Council members were talking up the Vine-Wood Street Connector at this week’s meeting. The state will pay for the $3.5 million project in its entirety. Borough Council President Matt West said teamwork made the grant happen.
“This announcement is a testament to Council’s diligence in conveying to PennDot how this new route that would bypass the alleyway on Vine Street, and would instead filter traffic through to Susquehanna Avenue, across Derstine Avenue and onto Wood Street would still meet the Smart Transportation principles of the project.”
Lansdale officials are applying for a second round of funding under the same grant program. This time they want $1.5 to pay for more streetscape improvements downtown.
