Local Lawmakers Eye Committee Chairmanships

Bob_GodshallTwo veteran legislators hope to become committee chairs when Republicans take control of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in January. Bucks County State Representative Paul Clymer says he wants to chair the House Education Committee with one goal in mind.

“Find ways that we can save money and, at the same time, provide quality education.”

Montgomery County State Representative Bob Godshall (pictured here) also wants to chair a key committee.

“One of the reasons I ran again is that I wanted to come back as the majority chair of the Consumer Affairs Committee.  We have all of the energy issues, which are important.”

If he gets the chairmanship, it would come at a time when lawmakers are still trying to sort out electric rate deregulation issues.  Godshall will start his 15th term in January, and Clymer will start his 16th.
