Bucks Co Justice Center Contracts Awarded

wnpv_politicsThe Bucks County Commissioners have awarded contracts for a new justice center in Doylestown. The Ernest Bock and Sons company of Philadelphia, which submitted the low bid of $58.2 million, was hired as general contractor.  The total project cost is about $84 million.  The building will rise six stories above ground with two underground levels for parking and other uses.  The vote came two days after Judge Alan Rubenstein blasted the project, saying it will be obsolete before the first brick is laid.  The commissioners agreed to a request from other judges for a partial build-out on the fifth floor, which was to be left vacant for future expansion.  They are adding three courtrooms and twelve conference rooms.  Democrat Diane Ellis-Marseglia voted against the project, saying the taxpayers cannot afford it.
