Former Bucks County prosecutor Gary Gambardella is running for Magisterial District Judge in a district that covers the upper end of the county. He says many people have asked him about the Second Amendment right to bear arms during his campaign travels, and he supports it.
“I’m not going to be dealing with Second Amendment issues, but it’s the law of the land, and I said to one person the Second Amendment is there for when the First Amendment (guaranteeing free speech) doesn’t work. I believe in the right to bear arms, and I also believe that if somebody violates that right, violates that privilege, it should be taken away. For instance, convicted felons should not be in possession of firearms.”
Gambardella says a convicted felon who recently admitted killing a hunter in Richland Township should not have been within ten feet of a firearm. He is a Republican running against Democrat John Blanchard in the November Election. He appeared Wednesday on the WNPV talk program Legally Speaking.
