It was a pleasure to sit-down and chat with two veteran scribes this week to discuss the state of newspapers today. Fred Behringer and Dick Shearer have more years in the paper business than they would like to count (not enough fingers and toes). Check out the program I did with them assessing the future of the local paper business on the Comment Please by Univest
page. These two guys understand the evolution (or de-evolution) of the paper business better than most as well as the long term impact on the community. Former Intell editor Lanny Morgnanesi also joined us to provide an overview of the op-ed piece he had penned for the Inky last week. I'd miss the demise of the newspaper for mostly sentimental reasons, the blow to journalism is what will truly hurt society.
