The Doylestown Township Supervisors have approved a policy that says the township will no longer hire non-uniformed employees who smoke or chew tobacco. Chairwoman Barbara Lyons says it will save the taxpayers thousands of dollars on health insurance costs.  She says they started discussing it after hearing about similar policies elsewhere.  It requires all new hires to sign a form saying they do not use tobacco, and if they lie they can be fired.
