The Penn State sex abuse scandal continues to haunt the university, particularly after yesterday’s ruling by Judge William Wenner to try three men, who prosecutors say failed to intervene in stopping Jerry Sandusky’s predatory activity with children. Penn State’s one-time President, Graham Spanier, Vice President, Gary Shultz and Athletic Director, Tim Curley will face a jury on charges of perjury, child endangerment, and failure to report abuse. the trial is likely to get underway next year. Spanier, Shultz and Curley, according to prosecutors, covered up two incidents of abuse at the hands of Jerry Sandusky. One in 1998, the other in 2001. Sandusky, Penn State’s former defensive coordinator for the Nittany Lions, was tried and found guilty of sexually abusing children. He’s serving a long prison term.
