Genetically Modified Organisms or GMO’s is the subject of legislation crafted by State Senator Daylin Leach.
The Montgomery County lawmaker says, it should be on the label of a food product, but companies oppose the measure
“If you put a tomato in a can of soup, you have to say, there’s a tomato in the can of soup on the ingredient labels. If you put a GMO in a can of soup, you have to say, there’s a GMO in this.”
Leach has bipartisan support, along with backing from Food and Water Watch, a national consumer advocacy group.
