Tom Wolf, running on the Democratic ticket for governor in November, still has a large lead over Governor Corbett in polling.
Political insider, Dr. Terry Madonna says, Corbett ran four years ago on the strength that lawmakers couldn’t agree on numerous legislative items. Madonna say, Corbett appears to be calling on the same strategy.
“Knowing that the legislature is not popular, run against Harrisburg. Pick a fight with your own legislative leaders is what he’s done over pensions and to a lesser amount, liquor and try to create a narrative, I’m a fighter I’m a leader.”
Madonna says, Corbett has pointed the blame at lawmakers for their lack of leadership in creating and passing pension reform. Corbett supports the Tobash Bill, which would set up a pension system for new employees.
