Montco. Co. Commissioner Says Voter Photo ID Law is Unjust

Montgomery County Commissioner, Leslie Richards reacts to a Judge Bernard McGinley’s decision in Commonwealth Court on Friday that struck down the State’s Voter Photo I-D Law, which requires voters to present a photo I-D when casting a ballot.

“I’m really happy. I think this was a really unjust law. Sp I was really please with Judge McGinley’s decision. I truly believe that requiring photo ID was a burden on voters and individuals right to vote.”

Richards, a guest on the AM Edition Monday morning, is the Chair of the Montgomery County Board of Elections. The Corbett Administration is likely to appeal the decision to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

Gerlach: D.C. Not a Fun Place To Work

6th District Congressman Jim Gerlach announced last week that he would not seek another term in office. Gerlach says it’s been a difficult time over the last several years in D.C.

“Not a fun place to work. The only way it’s really going to change is if President Obama moves toward the center of the way President Clinton did.”

Gerlach, who spent several years in the state legislature before heading to Washington as a  Congressman is still weighing his options when he leaves Congress. Gerlach was a guest on WNPV’s AM Edition Monday Morning.

Costello To Run For 6th District Congressional Seat

The 6th Congressional District seat will feature a newcomer, after Congressman Jim Gerlach announced that he would not seek another term in office. Pottstown native, Ryan Costello, a Republican candidate, has thrown his hat in the ring. Costello says, the challenges in D.C. can’t be changed by one person.

“We need to make sure the one person we send down to Congress in the 6th Congressional District is reflecting our values and is doing what they can to work with others. There’s enough folks down there that see fighting and rhetoric as sufficient for purposes of representing their district and I don’t agree with that.”

Costello, an attorney, has built up a political resume over the years in Chester County as a County Commissioner. Costello was a guest on the AM Edition Thursday morning with Darryl Berger.

Bucks County Congressman: N.S.A Needs More Oversight

Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick says, at a recent Senate hearing, Oregon Senator Ron Wyden questioned the National Intelligence Director about the N.S.A’s methods.  

“Very specifically asked James Clapper, are you involved in the indiscriminate, massive collection of information on law abiding Americans and it’s now believed that he provided an inaccurate and untruthful answer to the United States Senate.”

Fitzpatrick expects Congress to act on the N.S.A’s behavior and set guidelines for the agency. Fitzpatrick was a guest on the AM Edition this morning with Darryl Berger.
