State Senator Credits Septa For Its Work in Transportation

Local State Senator Stewart Greenleaf is pushing for some kind of transportation funding bill. The 12th District Republican sits on the Septa board.

“I’m really proud of what Septa is doing. We’re increasing our ridership on our regional rails. The biggest problem we have is parking. We’re always looking for parking lots we can acquire, so more people will use regional rail.

Greenleaf voted for the Senate passed bill, which would have hiked transportation spending two and half billion dollars. Leaders are working on a compromise transportation funding bill that is expected to voted on in November. Greenleaf was a guest on Friday’s Comment Please By Univest Program.

Montco. Attorney Counts on Experience in Run For Judge

After November 5th, Gail Weilheimer hopes to have a view from behind the bench as a Montgomery County Judge. Weilheimer has served as an Assistant District Attorney in Philadelphia, and has worked as both a defense and civil attorney in Montgomery County.

“Sometimes you get Judges who have never been in a courtroom and don’t understand how a courtroom is supposed to work. That doesn’t help with the administration of justice. So because I enjoy the art of litigation and I’m an instructor in that aspect and I have a good demeanor and those are some of the backgrounds that will make me a good judge.”

Weilheimer is running on the Democratic ticket. She was a guest on the AM Edition Thursday morning.
