Judge Issues Order In Webcam Spying Case
A federal judge has barred Lower Merion School District officials from using laptop computer webcams to monitor students.
They are also barred from using other intrusive technology, and they must adopt clear and transparent policies to govern their school-issued laptop program and accommodate students who do not want to participate. The order follows weeks of negotiations by lawyers representing the district and a family that sued it after a Harriton High School sophomore was monitored at home.
