The Pennsylvania Department of Education has chosen the Norristown Area School District for a pilot project under the “Pathways to Green Schools” program. It will receive technical help and consulting services for green and sustainable investments, as well as interest-free construction bonds, using federal recovery funds.  The district is working to modernize the existing Norristown Area High School, built in 1973.  It is upgrading a number of systems to save energy and reduce operating costs.
